EAST GREEK POTTERY FIGURAL ARYBALLOS - EX. CHRISTIE'S. Ca. 600 - 575 BC. A pottery aryballos shaped as a left leg, with a tapering thigh and a bulging calf, wearing a black pointed-toe boot (endromis) with crossing laces. A large palmette decorates the upper section, with a band of broken meander along the upper edge and bisecting the right side. A large rosette appears on the calf, while a key pattern runs along the upper thigh. Below, a thin band of ovolo and dots is followed by radiating tongues on the shoulders. The cylindrical neck supports a disc rim with incised zigzags along the edges, and radiating rays encircle the mouth. Details in added red. For similar see: J.
