A superb cabinet clock with 'à violon' forms embellished with fine gilt bronze appliqués with rocaille motifs. Supported by light rocaille feet, the cabinet is revealed with two moving doors of the exceptional marqueterie à cubique that continues up to the top, concealing the machine. On the ridge, a statue of winged Cronus sits on a globe surrounded by volutes. White enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals in 5 o'clock for the minutes, gilded mercury bronze hands, finely pierced and chiselled, centre seconds, with large burnished steel hand, 8-day movement, Chevilles d'Amand escapement, heavy pendulum lens, articulated knife suspension.
