17th century English school (Entourage of Godfried Kneller) Presumed portrait of Admiral Henshaw Oil on canvas H : 127.0 cm, W : 101.5 cm Provenance : Collection of Mr Jean Fraissinet ; Then by descent ; Private collection, Provence An old label on the frame on the reverse giving the painting to Godfried Kneller and identifying the sitter as Admiral Henshaw tells us that this portrait of a man was accompanied by a portrait of his wife at least in the first part of the 20th century.
