Height: 55cm - Width: 46cm Biography : Guillaume Sigismond (1819 - 1884) Guillaume Sigismond entered the Ecole Polytechnique at the age of 18, became a second lieutenant in the artillery and was promoted to captain two years later. He then became an officer in Napoleon III's army and later in the Imperial Guard. He fought in the Crimean, Italian and Mexican wars. He was awarded the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour in 1880.
