Edouard Vuillard (1868 Cuiseaux - 1940 La Baule) In the studio Characteristic studio study by Vuillard, who was a member of the artists' group Les Nabis alongside Pierre Bonnard, Maurice Denis, Paul Sérusier and Félix Valloton and one of the main representatives of French Post-Impressionism, skilfully drawn with a fleeting, dynamic stroke. The magazine La Revue blanche published numerous outstanding works by the artist. In addition to painting and his work as a graphic artist, particularly as a lithographer, he was a passionate amateur photographer, and his photographs often served as models for his paintings. Pencil/paper. R. and sign. stamp (Lugt 2497a). Verso portrait study of an elderly lady, possibly the artist's mother. 21.5 cm x 30.3 cm. Frame.
