EGYPTIAN ALABASTER JAR Old Kingdom, Ca. 2600 - 2240 BC. An alabaster jar with a flat disc base supporting a full globular body that tapers to a short cylindrical neck; the mouth finished with a broad everted rim, and a shallow circumferential groove at the junction of neck and shoulder.
