EGYPTIAN ALABASTER VESSEL Old Kingdom, 4th to 6th Dynasty, 2613 BC to 2181 BC. An alabaster vessel with a tall body that narrows towards the flat base and expands to a slightly everted lip. The surface reveals gentle veining arranged in harmonious, curved lines. Size: 220mm x 110mm; Weight: 2.1kg Provenance: Private London collection; previously French art market 1970s/1980s. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
