EGYPTIAN ALABASTER VESSEL Old Kingdom, Ca. 2600 - 2240 BC. A vessel carved from banded alabaster with an ovoid body tapering towards a flat base. The neck is short and subtly concave, surmounted by a wide collar rim with a thickened lip. For similar see: Christie's, Live Auction 10372, Antiquities, Lot. 27 .
