Lot no. 24
EGYPTIAN BLACK STONE FALCON-SHAPED PENDANT Ca. 664 - 30 BC A small amulet carved from black hardstone depicting the god Horus in the shape of a falcon. The dignified falcon stands tall atop an integral rectangular plinth with delineated legs, holds both wings against the sides of its breast, and features a perforated suspension loop protruding just above the broad tail feathers. A pair of ovoid eyes and a conical beak imbue the pendant with an attractive visage and a characteristic avian presentation.
