EGYPTIAN BLACK STONE SCARAB Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC A scarab with an ovoid body, carved from black stone and presenting pleasingly smooth surfaces. The topside of the insectile amulet features a folded wing carapace with incised striations, delineated legs with frilled tips, a semicircular head, and a serrated frontal clypeus, while the underside displays a polished surface.
