EGYPTIAN BLACK STONE TURTLE-SHAPED PALETTE.
Pre Dynastic, Ca. 3900 - 2900 BC.
A smooth, flat, dark-grey schist palette in the form of a turtle. The palette has a rounded body with a small projecting foot and head. Two holes are drilled to create eyes. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Accession Number: 10.176.79.
