EGYPTIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF NEHEBKAU WITH GOLD INLAYS. 21th - 26th Dynasty, Ca. 1077 - 525 BC. A bronze figure of snake headed god Nebebkau depicted in striding posture with arms positioned close to the body. A tripartite wig extends over the shoulders, with parallel gold inlays accentuating its length. A short kilt wraps around the waist, vertically striped with gold inlays. The legs extend from beneath the garment, set apart in a striding stance. The back of the figure features an integral suspension loop. Mounted on a custom-made display stand. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
