EGYPTIAN CARNELIAN ANUBIS TERMINAL.
New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1070 BC.
A carnelian terminal depicting the jackal head of Anubis, finely carved with a well-defined snout, slightly bulging eyes, and erect, pointed ears with a slight backward tilt. The elongated muzzle tapers gently towards the rounded nose, with subtle contouring along the cheeks. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
