EGYPTIAN CARNELIAN BASTET / CAT AMULET WITH GOLD RING. Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A carnelian cat amulet, carved as a seated feline with the forepaws set together on a small plinth and the hindquarters compactly tucked beneath the body. The neck rises to a rounded head with pricked triangular ears and a short muzzle. A drilled transverse aperture at the nape is fitted with a gold suspension ring.
