EGYPTIAN CARNELIAN CAT-SHAPED AMULET
New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A carnelian amulet carved in the form of a recumbent cat with its forelegs extended and head raised. The body is smoothly rounded, and the feline features are simply rendered with incised details marking the eyes, nose, and whiskers.
