EGYPTIAN CARNELIAN SEAL WITH GOLD LOOP New Kingdom, Ca. 1250 BC. A carnelian seal carved with a scorpion, its segmented body detailed with a crosshatched pattern. A small nefer sign is placed in the lower right corner. The back of the seal features a small handle with a recessed channel, through which a delicate twisted gold wire loop is threaded. Size: 16.8mm x 12.1mm; Weight: 1.95g Provenance: Private London collection; previously French art market 1970s/1980s. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
