EGYPTIAN CARNELIAN SEAL WITH INSCRIPTION New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A carnelian stamp seal of flattened oval form, the upper surface carved with a raised perforated handle. The underside is inscribed with the phrase: “Ra-Khepri, giver of life and stability,” in translation. A twisted gold wire passes through the longitudinal perforation.
