EGYPTIAN CARNELIAN SEAL WITH THE NAME OF THE GOD AMUN-RE New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A carnelian stamp seal with a rectangular face containing the name of the God Amun-Re. The backside has a small handle with a recessed channel, through which a fine twisted gold wire loop is threaded. Size: 16.8mm x 11.8mm; Weight: 2.24g Provenance: Private London collection; previously French art market 1970s/1980s. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
