EGYPTIAN FAIENCE AND CARNELIAN NECKLACE WITH PENDANTS New Kingdom to Third Intermediate Period, Ca. 1550 - 664 BC. A restrung necklace of cylindrical and disc faience beads in alternating sequences. Suspended from the lower section are eight small faience pendants, including four cornflowers, a figure of the goddess Taweret, two wedjat eyes and a nefer sign, interspersed with three large spherical carnelian beads. Size: 200/400mm x 12mm; Weight: 10g Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Private collection 1970s-1990s. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
