EGYPTIAN FAIENCE CYLINDER SEAL AND STEATITE SCARAB Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A faience cylinder seal and a steatite scarab. The seal is engraved with a standing figure, a stag, and a stylised tree set within a bordered field. The scarab is almond-shaped with a flat base incised with rows of elongated ovals flanked by zigzag motifs and is pierced lengthwise for suspension. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
