EGYPTIAN FAIENCE GOAT-SHAPED SEAL Third Intermediate Period, Ca. 1069 - 664 BC. A faience stamp seal in the form of a recumbent goat, rendered in blue glaze with black detailing. The animal is modelled with backwards curved horns, circular eyes, and incised facial features. The flat underside bears a hieroglyphic inscription. A longitudinal perforation runs through the body for suspension. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
