EGYPTIAN FAIENCE NECKLACE WITH BES AMULET. Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A restrung necklace composed of cylindrical beads predominantly in teal-blue or turquoise hues, interspersed with smaller brown, tan, and ochre-coloured beads. At the centre is a small light blue faience amulet of Bes, the dwarf deity associated with protection, music, and fertility. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
