EGYPTIAN FAIENCE NECKLACE WITH CENTRAL MEDALLION DEPICTING BES New Kingdom to Late Period, Ca. 1550 - 332 BC. A restrung necklace formed in two sections, the upper composed of alternating sequences of turquoise blue and yellow faience disc beads, and the lower of alternating turquoise blue crenellated rectangular beads and pale yellow discs. At the centre of the lower section is a medallion in green faience, moulded on one side with a frontal mask of Bes within a raised border and engraved on the reverse with a pair of intersecting diagonal lines forming a cross.
