EGYPTIAN FAIENCE PLATE WITH NILOTIC DECORATION New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A shallow turquoise-blue faience plate with a rounded base and flaring sides. The interior is painted in black with a central fish enclosed within a circular frame, surrounded by a radiating band of eight stylised papyrus umbels, each with spotted and striped petals.
