EGYPTIAN FAIENCE USHABTI OF ANONYMOUS. New Kingdom, XIX - XX Dynasty, Ca. 1292 - 1069 BC. A faience ushabti figure with arms crossed over the chest, the hands clutching agricultural implements. The face is modelled with full cheeks and a rounded chin, framed by a tripartite wig with painted black detailing and a broad usekh collar below the neck. A vertical column of hieroglyphs is faintly preserved along the front of the mummiform body. The reverse is plain. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number EA18588. Size: 145mm x 45mm; Weight: 140g Provenance: Private London collection; previously French art market 1970s/1980s. This piece is accompanied by an authentication statement from Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
