EGYPTIAN GLASS TAWERET AMULET - EX. CHRISTIE'S. New Kingdom, Ca. 1353 - 1336 BC. A mosaic glass Taweret amulet depicting the hippopotamus goddess in a standing posture. The figure is rendered in black glass with red and white speckled detailing across the body, limbs, and head. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
