EGYPTIAN GOLD PENDANT WITH AMETHYST HEART SCARAB. New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC A gold sheet pendant with an oval backplate with a narrow upstanding rim and a simple tubular suspension loop formed from an extension of the plate at the top. The mount holds a translucent amethyst heart scarab carved with a rounded thorax and elytra with incised longitudinal grooves. Size: 19.5mm x 12.7mm; Weight: 3.33g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously with F.A., Brussels; Belgian collection formed between the early 1970s to the early 1990s.
