EGYPTIAN GRANITE URAEUS SERPENT HEAD
New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty, Ca. 1292 - 1190 BC. A red granite head of a uraeus serpent, cut to reveal remnants of a protuberant eye. The scale of this head suggests that it possibly came from a uraeus that was seated upon a colossal crown of a king, such as the red granite monumental head of Amenhotep III at the British Museum.
