EGYPTIAN HAEMATITE SCARAB
Late Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate Period Ca. 1750 - 1550 BC
A scarab made of haematite featuring a scroll border and the hieroglyphs “Neb-kheper-Re” on its base, which may refer to the prenomen of an attested Hyksos ruler or a defective rendering of Nub-kheper-Re Intef, a ruler of the 17th Dynasty. Studied by PD Dr. habil. Pieter Gert van der Veen, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz.
