EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE LINTEL WITH CARTOUCHE OF AKHENATEN, HIEROGLYPHS AND ORIGINAL PIGMENTS
New Kingdom, Amarna Period Ca. 1350- 1334 BC.
A limestone relief fragment carved with a horizontal register of hieroglyphs flanking the cartouche of Ramesses III. The hieroglyphic inscription reads “The Maat of Ra is powerful, Chosen of Ra.” The upper edge preserves a cavetto cornice with traces of original red, blue, and green pigments.
