EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE STELE FRAGMENT WITH AKHENATEN AND MERITATEN XVIIIh Dynasty, reign of Amenhotep IV-Akhenaten, Ca. 1353 - 1336 BC An Egyptian relief, carved from pale orange sandstone, depicting a high figure. The figure is a queen of the Amarna Kingdom. In front of her is the figure of King Akhenaten. On the left of the queen is a child, most likely the young princess Meritaten. On the left of the scene is a column with hieroglyphic inscriptions. Size: 220mm x 130mm; Weight: 1.7kg Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Hans Humbel Private Collection, Zurich. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. Published: A.
