EGYPTIAN MOSAIC GLASS INLAY WITH LILIES AND PALMETTES. Ca. 100 BC - AD 100. A circular mosaic glass inlay with a symmetrical arrangement of scrolling tendrils in red and yellow against a dark ground. The composition consists of six outward-facing palmettes interspersed with lilies around the central rosette. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
