EGYPTIAN MULTI STONE LOTUS CUP.
Late Predynastic Period to Early Dynastic Period, Ca. 3325 - 2575 BC
A travertine and argillite vessel in the form of a lotus flower, with a tapering body rising to a flat shoulder and a short cylindrical neck with a narrow mouth. The exterior is composed of alternating pale travertine and dark green argillite slabs set around the circumference to imitate overlapping lotus petals.
