EGYPTIAN ROCK CRYSTAL SCARAB.
Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC
A rock crystal scarab with a high domed back and neatly modelled clypeus and head flanked by ribbed side plates. The convex elytra are engraved with closely spaced longitudinal striations. The underside has segmented legs and a central bar pierced for mounting.
Size: 38mm x 30mm; Weight: 19.6g.
Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in a German private collection before 2000.
