EGYPTIAN STEATITE PLAQUE
Ramesside Period, Ca. 1300 - 1100 BC
A rectangular-shaped plaque made of steatite and with a drilled hole. One side displays a cartouche with feathers containing the prenomen of Thutmose III (“Menkheperre”). The opposite side features concentric circles and a kheper-beetle, symbolising regeneration. Studied by PD Dr. habil. Pieter Gert van der Veen, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz.
