EGYPTIAN STEATITE SCARAB WITH KNOT MOTIF. Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A steatite scarab with the base engraved with a symmetrical knot motif of four looped arms around a central shaft, enclosed by a single line border. The ovoid back shows a pronounced triangular clypeus, a straight transverse line for the pronotum, and a median and lateral divisions of the elytra.
