EGYPTIAN STONE FOR POLISHING PAPYRUS Old Kingdom, Ca. 2600 - 2200 BC An elongated granite cone with a flat top and a rounded bottom. This would have been used for stretching papyrus fibres. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
