EGYPTIAN TERRACOTTA STATUETTE OF SPHINX. Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A terracotta fragmentary statuette of a sphinx with a human head and the remains of a leonine body. The facial features include rounded cheeks, a broad nose, full lips, and almond-shaped eyes. The torso retains traces of a broad collar. The surface exhibits a reddish-brown hue. Mounted on a custom-made display stand. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
