EGYPTIAN WHITE STONE CARVED BOWL Old Kingdom, Ca. 2575-2134 BC A carved stone bowl of soft yellow-white hues that illuminate next to a light source. The conical vessel features a planar base for stability as well as sloped walls to keep its contents within. The interior has been drilled out using a series of progressively finer bits as well as copious amounts of abrasive sand, and faint traces of the original drill marks are still visible along the basin walls. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
