EGYPTIAN WOOD CYLINDER SEAL. Early Dynastic Period, Ca. 2900 BC. A cylindrical wooden seal centrally pierced for suspension. The exterior surface depicts a seated figure facing an offering table with a lotus blossom above. A vertical row of hieroglyphs is present beside the figure, including the signs for 'scribe' and 'ka'. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition. For similar see: P.
