EGYPTIAN WOODEN STATUETTE OF A ROWER.
Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC.
A carved wooden statuette of a standing rower with a square-cut wig framing a rounded face with incised eyes. The shoulders are broad, each pierced to receive pegged forearms. The legs are straight with the feet set together on an integral rectangular base.
