EGYPTIAN WOODEN STATUETTE OF STANDING OFFICER. Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A carved wooden statuette of a standing worshipper with a block-like torso and elongated proportions. The head is framed by a short wig above an oval face with a straight nose and wide-set eyes. The shoulders are squared with shallow mortises for separately made arms, the waist is slight, and the lower body is sheathed in a long, straight kilt descending to the ankles. The legs are cut as narrow parallel uprights.
