The inlay on the barrel reads "CONSTRUIDO POR FRANCISCO UR...OLA EN EIBAR 1827". Some loss of inlay means that we cannot provide the full name of the gunsmith. The hammer is in the form of a stylised animal. The mechanism appears to be working correctly.
