ELEGANT GNATHIAN PROCHOUS WITH VEGETAL MOTIFS. Ca. 325 - 275 BC. A prochous with a piriform body set on a moulded ring foot. A tall neck ends in a long spout with a rolled rim. A high-arched strap handle rises from the shoulder to above the lip, with small lion-mask appliqués at the sides. Decoration consists of parallel bands in added white, yellow, and red. Around the neck run ovolo, then zigzags, a meander, chevrons, and a dotted line, each sequence divided by double fillets. The main register presents a central rosette flanked on both sides by a wreath. Below runs a band of alternating motifs between fillets, followed by a frieze of ovolo within narrow panels and a further dotted line towards the lower body.
