Lot no. 66
Elegant mantel clock in mercury-gilded bronze with a dark patina. The architecturally shaped central body houses a white enamel dial with Roman numerals, signed 'à Paris'. The plastic composition is dominated by a refined male figure in patinated bronze, depicting a young man in classical dress (probably an allegory of Abundance or a mythological figure) leaning against the watch case, while holding a cornucopia. The upper part is surmounted by a finely chiselled two-handled vase. The rectangular base is decorated with palmette friezes, rosettes and leaf motifs in relief, supported by stylised feral paw feet. Pendulum movement (pendulum visible in photo, disassembled). Mechanism to be overhauled.
