Eleonora Rozenek (1896 Prague - 1987 Munich) "Wednesday" from the cycle "The Daily Bread". Original title Expressive-realistic, two-dimensional, abstract composition with stylised female figure and loaves of bread in bright, high-contrast colouring. As the daughter of an art collector, Eleonora Rozanek came into contact with art at an early age and attended the School of Arts and Crafts in Altona from 1913 to 1920. After a short period of study at the Bauhaus in Weimar, she travelled to Paris. She then worked as a commercial artist and press illustrator in Hamburg and Berlin before finally settling in Munich. Oil on canvas; signed on the reverse; signed and titled with Munich artist's address on the verso; estate label with Wvz. no. 105. 115 cm x 92 cm. Studio moulding. General reference: Walter K.
