Eline RAUSENBERGER (1944)
Brewery scene, signed and dated 90 +-49 x 58 cm.
Note: Eline Rausenberger began studying art history at Ghent University in 1963, but soon interrupted her studies. She then met Jacques Vandewalle, a painter and auctioneer, whom she married in 1964. Their son Pascal was born in 1965, when the family moved into the Antwerp beguinage near the Ossenmarkt, where they lived until 1987.
The couple were active in the Antwerp art scene, working with Wout Vercammen and Fred Bervoets. Inspired by Antwerp's nightlife and scenes such as the Ommegang on the Meir, she exhibited widely and her work was included in many private collections.
