Lot no. 90
Elvire COISNE (1873-1956). Fields of flowers. Oil on canvas. A file by the historian Laurent Stevens is attached. Dimensions: 35.5 x 55 cm. Elvire Coisne was born into the good society of Ghent in 1873 and was a pupil of Emile Claus. In 1899, she married Eugène Bondue, manager of a soap factory. She had four children. It seems that her husband led her to leave Emile Claus's workshop, which put a stop to her public career. Nevertheless, she was exhibited at the Salon Triennal in 1902 under the name Elvire Coisne-Bondue. The vast majority of her works have remained in the family. Resale rights applicable.
