EMIL BÖHM* (Munich 1873 - 1958 Munich) The way to the happiness watercolour/paper 21,5 x 18,8 cm ESTIMATE °€ 300 - € 500 STARTING PRICE € 300 German painter of the 20th century. In 1891, he inscribed at the private art school of Simon Hollósy in Munich, from 1891 to 1901, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Johann Caspar Herterich, Paul Hoecker and Franz Defregger. Study trips took him to Venice, Florence, Rome, Budapest and Thuringia. He was a member of the Munich Artists' Cooperative until 1939. Böhm was reknowned for his copies of old masters, such as Peter Paul Rubens, Titian, or Albrecht Dürer. He also created humorous portraits and narrative depictions inspired by the old masters' style.
