Émile Edmond Peynot (1850 Villeneuve-sur-Yonne - 1932 Paris) Spinner with sleeping child in her lap Bronze, dark patina. Signed a. dat. 1881 with location Rome. Early group of figures by Pynot, which he created in 1881 during his stay in Rome after winning the Prix de Rome (1880). Peynot studied under François Jouffroy and Pierre-Alfred Robinet, made his debut at the Salon in 1873, and won gold medals at the World Exhibitions in Paris in 1889 and 1900. In addition to smaller bronze sculptures, he also created monuments and reliefs for installation in France, Argentina and Ecuador. H. 77 cm. Dark patinated bronze. Signed and dated 1881 with location Rome.
